End of August saw us at Blairgowrie, only 10 vans managed this nice venue which sadly could be for the last time as the owner is no longer using it as a rally field. Tom and Val hosted a nice weekend welcoming new members Tom and Agnes Clark on their first rally with us. The weather stayed fine with the use of the steadings for an evening chat and nice game of bingo.

September brought the invitation from Northern Counties to join their holiday rally at Brent Park in South Shields. Five Scottish group vans accepted the invitation and enjoyed a fine rally venue right on the promenade. Evenings were spent in their smashing recreation facility affectionately known as the Tyne Tunnel, Friday night was quiet but Saturday brought a Pie n peas night which was great value and very tasty. There was great excitement in the Scottish corner of the Tunnel when Leslie Watt managed a winning line at the bingo.  Neil said she could treat herself to something new with her £4 winnings. Sunday afternoon saw the Scottish Group team of the Boyd’s, the Mead’s, the Watt’s and the McCall’s emerge victorious at the quoits challenge match, which is very fortuitous as Chairman Tom has the quoits trophy on top of his telly and has been quoted as saying “he likes it there” and “they are no getting it back”. The quoits challenge match was exciting with every team member scoring except for Scoop who even though he was by far the best player in the team was just very unlucky with his throws. It came down to the last end and the Scottish Group’s number one quoiter Rob McCall won it by a display of skill not often seen on the quoits field, it is rumoured he practices by throwing coins into the slot of his piggy bank across  the room, never been known to miss.

September 8 – 12th was the return to Crail, 19 vans including visitors Brian and Sandra Twinn, joined the rally at Bankend Farm. Rob and Pauline hosted and provided a full agenda of entertainment, there was rattily tins and bingo, there was family fortunes and American quizzes. Rob lead a good sing song with many joining in to sing lustily along, a fine musically gifted lot we are. No rally at Crail is complete without Fish n chips from Anstruther, well collected by Neil whose car comes in very handy at times. Sunday morning raffle and coffee morning were held indoors as the weather could have been a bit better but it did not stop folk digging out their bus passes and getting along the coast for the day. Thanks to the hosts for all their efforts.
