We went to Noah’s Ark CP at Perth, where there was entertainment at a local social club and good fun in the bowling alley with many members enjoying a nice lunch with their bowling. Improved hard standings made this a fine September weekend rally venue.

Jings crivens, help ma boab and buckets o blood! He went and did it, Old Chairman Tom no more, he went and retired. Thank you Tom, you have worked tirelessly for years to get this group re-established what a great job you have done. Also thanks to Val, Robert, Paddy, and Rob who all stood down from the committee at this year’s AGM.  26 vans attended the AGM rally weekend at Blackford. So who’s filling the hot seat now you ask? Chairman Forbes Alexander who else? Congratulations Forbes you do realise along with the chain of office comes the sacred duty of Rally Bingo Caller, you will need to get some practice in, 6 and 2 clickety duck etc. Thanks to the members old and new who are joining Forbes on the committee for the year ahead. Thanks to Robert who Chaired the AGM and Members meeting in Tom’s absence, Val will never be able to catch Tom now he has his knew knee fitted. Friday night saw us at the bowling green to enjoy a game of bingo with the locals, they take it so seriously that they shut the bar during the bingo, big Rob was in tears. Old Scoop got some very interesting quotes after the bingo whilst catching up with some folk, but, unfortunately due to a mixture of many blends of Scotland’s finest drink cannot remember any of them. Bill Campbell has promised Scoop a fine set of bull horns for the front of his van from his African safari. Scoop read about the British couple falling into a ravine at the Amazon river in their motorhome,  it is an awful long way to drive from Elgin to Africa I hope Bill and Irene  have a safe journey. It was nice to meet Henry and Margaret who joined us from the Lancashire group, haste ye back.

This has been a good AGM venue over the last few years but the steady growth in numbers means if it is wet, and it has been quite a lot recently, then it is too soft for the vans trying to squeeze in.  It took quite a bit of shoving and pushing to get the vans out of the soft grass but with everyone helping  we soon got moving. We intend to move the AGM to Dunfermline next year where we will have plenty of hard standing for the hunners of vans attending. Saturday evening in the hall for a dinner and dance, Kath Shand organised the Buffet with plenty of help from the ladies (and Charlie of course). Thank you all. Good music from the Anderson Trio, it sounded as if there was at least 5 of them, did you see old Scoops moves on the dance floor, all the lessons from Big Robert weren’t wasted. Some good prizes donated by Perthshire Caravans for the raffle, thanks to Paddy, no she didn’t pinch them the nice people at Perthshire donated them when they heard it was our AGM. It was good to see some old friends at the AGM, Joan and Don looking good.

Well done Lewis and Margaret easy winners of the John Brown Trophy, never missed a rally last year.

How about some Christmas shopping at Lomond Woods CP, Balloch?, Dec 9 – 11th.Regular trains into Glasgow if you fancied travelling into town. No rally discount so full site prices unfortunately. But this is a sneaky wee extra meet-up if you fancy some company we have the use of a room in the evening, close to some pubs and restaurants it is within walking distance of Lomond Shores, close to Antartex and the Station for Glasgow.

Monifieth for New Year but we are looking for a change of venue for next year so please get your suggestions in. Contact Irene or Marlene if you fancy going we need to have some idea of numbers.

Here’s hoping the wintery weather does not cancel any rallies over the festive season.

Oh, and by the way nobody volunteered for Notes duties so you are stuck with me again. But even if we don’t make the rally my wee buddy, mini me, will gather all the gossip.

Cheers.

Scoop.
